merchants mind the monastaries
actuaries carry canaries
to mines behind Dakota Prairies

cemetaries, California
adorned with heckled heedless warnings
strapped onto the jewels adorning
boundless beauty in the morning

blame Delilah, blame Medusa
blame yourself Tony Larussa
maybe you’ll just tell the truth next time
there’ll be light in the room and you’ll know
