BLACK DOG ON A MOUNTAIN TOP
We drove from Patrick’s Point early at 5 am to get across the border before they closed 101 for construction. Then we set up our tent in Kenny’s back yard. Then I went surfing and it was beautiful conditions. Then we met up with Kenny and hiked to the top of Humbug Mountain. We talked about what to do with the rest of our lives and Jessie told Kenny I knew how to make birdhouses. I had low blood sugar from the surfing and Ramona got hungry too. We went to meet Kenny’s friends at a nice fish restaurant after the hike. I skipped the beginning of the dinner to take Ramona to the grocery store to buy a tin of salmon. I fed it to her in the parking lot overlooking the ocean and felt more comfortable with her by the truck then inside with adult human beings even though Kenny is one of the nicest ones I know. I’m more of a dog than a person lots of times.
