SELF PORTRAIT OF A YOUNG MAN’S FACE IN FRONT OF A MANHATTAN CITY STREET // PENTAX

I went to New York City to visit friends and attend a war protest. When the cops came I ran and escaped rather then get locked up in the library like my friends did. This was on account of me being a self centered countered, but also because I didn’t want to miss the rest of my time on the east coast incarcerated. I loved my childhood dog and I was meant to go back to Baltimore the next day to spend a few days with her before flying back to California.

SANTA MONICA, CALIFORNIA

Brendan was visiting Los Angeles from Maryland so we went to Santa Monica, parked, and walked to a corner store. There we purchased several bottles of cheap champagne and proceeded to walk to the beach.  Paige was in an entertaining mood and performed a lot of cartwheels, each time wrecking in the sand.  Before beginning each cartwheel he would ask "What do you call a cartwheel like this?"  Then he would do more or less the same cartwheel as the one before.

A true master took this photo. There is no more telling document of these four family members during this period in time. The dog I still think about, and was a great friend and teacher. The sisters went on to successful lives. The boy turned more and more Russian and wolf.
